Poor,

And they say, "Our hearts are wrapped
(i.e. do not hear or understand Allah's
Word)," Nay Allah has cursed them for their
disbelief, so little is that which they believe.

It is not Al-Birr (piety, righteousness,
and each and every act of obedience to Allah,
etc.) that you turn your face towards east and
(or) west (in prayers); but Al-Birr is (the
quality of) the one who believes in Allah, the
Last Day, the Angels, the Book, the
Prophets and gives his wealth, in spite of
love for it, to the kinsfolk, to the orphans, and
to Al-Masakin (the poor), and the wayfarer,
and to those who ask, and to set slaves free,
performs As-Salat (Iqamat-as-Salat), and
gives the Zakat, and who fulfil their covenant
when they make it, and who are patient in
extreme poverty and ailment (disease) and at
the time of fighting (during the battles). Such
are the people of the truth and they are
Al-Muttaqun.

This is the Book (the Qur'an),
whereof there is no doubt, a guidance to
those who are Al-Muttaqun [the pious
believers of Islamic Monotheism who fear
Allah much (abstain from all kinds of sins
and evil deeds which He has forbidden) and
love Allah much (perform all kinds of good
deeds which He has ordained).

It is obligatory to have the Messengership of
the Prophet (Muhammad). Abu Hurairah Allah's Messenger
said: "By Him (Allah) in Whose Hand Muhammad's soul is,
there is none from amongst the Jews and the Christians
(of these present nations) who hears about me and then dies
without believing in the Message which I have been sent
(i.e. lslamic Monotheism), but he will be from the dwellers
of the (Hell) Fire."

The asking of (angel) Jibrael (Gabriel) from the Prophet about
Belief, Islam, lhsan (perfection) and the knowledge of the
Hour (Doomsday), and their explanation given to him by the
Prophet. Then the Prophet said (to his companions): "Jibrael
(Gabriel) came to teach you your religion." So the Prophet
regarded all that as a religion. And all that which the
Prophet explained to the delegation of Abul-Qais was a
part of faith. And the Statement of Allah: And whoever
seeks a religion other than Islam, it will never be accepted
of him."

Abu Hurairah: One day while the Porphet was sitting in
the company of some people. (The angel) Jibrael (Gabriel)
came and asked, "What (the) meeting with Him, His messengers,
and to believe in Resurrection. Then he further asked,
"What is islam?" Allah's Messenger replied, "To
worship Allah Alone and none else, to perform As-Salat
( lqamat-as-Salat), to give the Zakat and to observe
Saum (fasts) during the month of Ramadan, then he
further asked, "What is lhsan (perfection)?" Allah's Messenger
replied, "To worship Allah as if you see Him, and if you
cannot achieve this state of devotion then you must consider
that he is looking at you." The he further asked, "When will
the Hour be established?" Allah's Messenger replied. "The
answerer has no better knowledge than the questioner.
But I will inform you about it portents:

When a slave (lady) gives birth to her master
When the shepherds of black camels start boasting and
competing with others in the construction of higher buildings.
And the Hour is one of the five things which nobody knows
except Allah.

The Prophet then recited: "Verily, the knowledge of the Hour
is with Allah (Alone). Then that man (Gabriel) left and
the Prophet asked his Companions to call back, but they could not
see him. The the Prophet said, "That was (angel) Gabriel who
came to teach the people their religion." Abu 'Abdullah said:
He (the Prophet) considered all that as a part of faith

Religion,

O people of the Scripture
(Christians)! Do not exceed the limits in
your religion, nor say of Allah ought but the
truth. The Messiah 'Isa (Jesus), son of
Maryam (Mary), was (no more than) a
Messenger of Allah and His Word, ( "Be!"
- and he was ) which bestowed on
Maryam ( Mary) and a spirit ( Ruh) created
by Him; so believe in Allah and His
Messengers. Say not: "Three (trinity)!"
Cease! ( it is) better for you. For Allah is (the
only) One IIah (GOD), glory be to Him (Far
Exalted is He) above having a son. To Him
belongs all that is in heavens and all that
is in earth. And Allah is All-Sufficients as
a Disposer of affairs.

Ruh-ullah: According to the early religious scholars from
among the Companions of the Prophet and their students
and the Mujtahidun, there is a rule to distinguish between
the two nouns in the genitive construction:

When one of the nouns is Allah, and the other is
a person or a thing, e.g. Allah's House (Bait-ullah);
Allah's Messenger (Rasul-ullah); Allah's slave (Abdullah);
Allah's spirit (Ruh-ullah), the rule for the above words is
that the second noun, e.g., house, messenger, slave, spirit
is created by Allah and is honourable in His Sight and
similarly, Allah's spirit may be understood as the spirit
of Allah, in fact it is a soul created by Allah, i.e. 'Isa (Jesus)
was created like Adam].

But when one of the two is Allah and the second is neither
a person nor a thing, then it is not a created thing but is a
quality of Allah e.g. Allah's Knowledge (llm-ullah); Allah's
Life (Hayat-ullah); Allah's Statement (Kalam-ullah); Allah's
Self (Dhat-ullah).

'Ubadah: The Prophet said, "If anyone testifies that
La ilaha illallah (none has the right to worshipped
but Allah Alone) Who has no partners, and that
Muhammad is His slave and His Messenger, and that
Jesus is Allah slave and His Messenger and His Word
("Be!" - and he was) which He bestowed on Mary and
a spirit (Ruh) created by Him, and that Paradise is the
truth, and Hell is the truth - Allah will admit him into
Paradise with the deeds which he had done even if
those deeds were few." (Junadah, the subnarrator said,
"Ubadah added: Such a person can enter Paradise
through any of its eight gates he like.' ")

Day of atonement

And the LORD spake unto Moses after the
death of the two sons of Aaron, when
they offered before the LORD, and died;
And the LORD said unto Moses, Speak unto
Aaron thy brother, that he come not at all times
into the holy place within the vail before the
mercy seat, which is upon the ark; that he die
not: for I will appear in the cloud upon the mercy
seat.
Thus shall Aaron come into the holy place:
with a young bullock for a sin offering, and a ram
for a burnt offering.
He shall put on the holy linen coat, and he
shall have the linen breeches upon the flesh,
and shall be grided with a linen gridle, and with
the linen mitre shall he be attired: these are holy
garments; therefore shall he wash his flesh in
water, and so put them on.
And he shall take of the congregation of the
children of Israel two kids of the goats for a sin
offering, and one ram for a burnt offering.
And Aaron shall offer his bullock of the sin
offering, which is for himself, and make an
atonement for himself, and for his house.
And he shall take the two goats, and present
them before the LORD at the door of the tabernacle
of the congregation.
And Aaron shall cast lots upon the two goats;
one lot for the LORD, and the other lot for the
scapegoat.
And Aaron shall bring the goat upon which
the LORD's lot fell, and offer him for a sin offering.
But the goat, on which the lot fell to be the
scapegoat, shall be presented alive before the
LORD, to make an atonement with him, and to let
him go for a scapegoat into the wilderness.
And Aaron shall bring the bullock of the sin
offering, which is for himself, and shall make an
atonement for himself, and for his house, and
shall kill the bullock of the sin offering which is
for himself.
And he shall take a censer full of burning
coals of fire from off the altar before the LORD,
and his hands full of sweet incense beaten
small, and bring it within the vail:
And he shall put the incense upon the fire
before the LORD, that the cloud of the incense
may cover the mercy seat that is upon the testimony,
that he die not.
